On the journey to meeting a child's special needs, families must go through a complicated process that requires several meetings and paperwork. Our special education advocates play a vital role in helping families know their rights and receive the services that will allow their child to succeed.
- Advise parents about services, programs, and accommodations that meet their child’s individual needs
- Explain each step in the IEP Process to parents
- Accompany parents to scheduled meetings to offer support in determining goals, supports, and accommodations
- Interpret rating scales, graphs, reports, and evaluation summaries
- Assist parents in making sure all documentation is signed and returned
- Organize parent copies of documents to reference when needed
